Trout, sea-trout and char fishing in Iceland is somewhat neglected. There is an immense multitude of trout and char fishing rivers all over the country.

	Galtalækur - fly only Prime time: June 1st to August 30th Location: South Iceland - 100 km from Reykjavik Description: Brown trout fishing in a lovely 2 rod river

	Vididalsa Excellent char fishing in a 4 km beautiful area.
	Big Artic Char Fishing the Icelandic Highlands rivers with a great guide... in rivers that offers great fishing for big Arctic Char.

	Arnarvatnsheidi Prime time: June 20th to August 20th Location: Mid highland - 150 km from Reykjavik (only for good jeeps) Description: Brown trout and Arctic char. No luxury, only hardcore fishing in amazing landscape.

	Varmá - fly only Prime time:June 1st to October 15th - Fly only Location: South ( 40 km from Reykjavik) Description: Sea trout and Arctic char. Varmá is a 6-rod river blessed with a very long season or from 1st April until mid October.

	Laxá í Mývatnssveit - fly only Prime time: June 1st to August 30th Location: North East Iceland - 470 km from Reykjavik Description: Amazing Brown trout river, by many considered the best in Europe

	Laxá in Adaldalur Good combination of salmon and trout fishing with a wonderful lodge.

	Nordurá in Skagafjördur Prime time is August and September
