Information

Russia Kola Peninsula - Welcome to the real salmon heaven

Dear Lax-á Friends - Superlatives are queuing up again when trying to describe our 2008 Russian season. A season we all will remember for both the extraordinary fishing and extreme weather conditions. For 2009 Lax-á have “hand picked” probably the best salmon programmes on the Kola Peninsula - and with more than Eighteen years hard earned experience on the Kola we know what we are talking about!

Kola and Kitza rivers

The Kola is the largest river on the Northern Kola Peninsula emptying into the Barents Sea. No wonder the entire peninsula derives its name from it.

Upper Kitza

Kitza is knowned to hold some of the biggest salmon in the Kola river system , many stories about big fish and the monster that got away.

Upper Kola

Upper Kola will be a part of the 8 rod program that we are going to run on the Upper kitza , Upper Kola and river Ura.

Ponoi - Brevyeni

The Ponoi River has gained worldwide recognition as one of the most productive Salmon Rivers on the planet! Nowhere else can you can find Atlantic Salmon in such abundance.

Lower Yokanga

This river is one of the legendary rivers in Russia Kola Peninsula for big trophy salmon. Until recently this lower section of the river has not been accessible to foreign anglers.

Varzina

Varzina is 28 km long , there is in addition a very nice tributary river called Penka wich have some wonderful places to fish. One of the most interesting river of Kola peninsula.

Western Litza

Western Litza is a powerful river , fast stream , waterfalls , but very pretty tailouts and nice calm pools in between, sucha good fly water.

Ura

Ura is a medium size river with gin clear water , where you mostly use floating line and small flies. Small double handed rod , single handed rod will work as well.

Sidorovka & Drozdovka

These two smaller rivers reminds a lot of Iceland , gin clear great for floating lines and surface flies and the hitch. we use the Varzina helicopter for the transfer of Sidorovka and Drozdovka anglers.

Siberia Hugo

Taimen fishing is one of the most exciting and prestigious fishings. Taimen is accepted to salmon bloodline which allways live in the inner waters in comparison with the other salmons which come to the inner waters or rivers only for spawning.

Litza

Litza is one of the 3 Northern Rivers runned by Peter C. Power. Beautitful river fished normally by 6 rods , this is the home of the big salmon.

Kharlovka

A beautiful river in the Northern  on the Kola Peninsula. Big fish and fantastic accomodation!

Rynda

Wonderful river , smaller than  Kharlovka and Litza. Most ideal for surface fishing , full floating lines , riffling hitch , skating flies , small leaders , small double handed rods and single handed rods as well , this is delicated fishing.

Other Russian Rivers

Lower Vazuga and Kitza, Middle Varzuga , Upper Varzuga,
Pecha Ulita, Pana ... other  rivers to complete our portfolio in Russia.
