The river Tweed is one of best salmon rivers in Europe, around 7000-12.000 salmon are landed from the river every year. The Tweed is located about 45 minutes drive from Edinburgh, so it's best to fly to Edinburgh airport, rent a car and drive to the Tweed area. There are many Hotels and B&B around in the vicinity so accommodation is no problem. The Tweed is very long (98 miles) and there are some 40-50 productive beats on the river. Each beat has different prime times, very much depending on water levels. The salmon of the Tweed are known to be large and when conditions are right there are numbers of salmon from 20-30 pounds landed..

Ednam House is the place where you meet all the anglers.
We always stay at the Ednam House Hotel in Kelso , very conveniance as it is central on the river Tweed. Ednam house have a tradition amongst the Tweed anglers , most of them stay there , meet over drink at the bar in the evenings, getting information and the fishing story of the day.
