We are back from the Tanzanian bush and now in Dar Es Salam , we had a serious adventure fighting huge Tigers on the fly , this fish are big and brutal , burning your fingers in to the bone , braking leaders and rods , this was amazing adventure long to live in our memories !
Tackle for the Tigers of Tanzania…
Bring few rods , one of 9 foot 8 weight full floater for Dry Foam Flies , one of 9 foot 9 weight for Intermediate line , one of 9 weight for 350 to 400 grain line , and if possible bring one 9 foot for 500 to 600 grain line for fishing the deep chanals. Flies are similar to Dorado flies , most common size is 2/0 , guides have excellant flies in camp. Leader is 1 meter long and should be 40 pound test , steel wire should be like 20 to 30 cm long and 40 pound test as well. It is hard work and you should prepare your self with the best tackle available. Catches will be around all from 10 fish a week as to as many as 30 fish a week , you will loose many and have great action without landing a fish , sometimes you will loose 6 – 8 fish before you manage to land one. There is 1 guide with one boat for every 2 anglers , comfortable accommodation for 2 anglers in each cabin. Best season will be September , October and November.
