River Stora Laxa has two prime times. First in the beginning of the season when the early going stock arrive and then late in the season when the late goers arrive from the junction to river Hvítá where they spend most of the summer.

he fishing in September can be great in the river but especially so in the lowest beat – 1&2. The best September days in the beat have given up to 50 salmon for the four rods. Beat four is also good in September, yo wont find the same numbers but the scenery makes up for that.

Due to cancellation we can now offer a great combo trip for the two beats in September. You would fish beat 1&2 from 5-8.09 and then beat 4 from 8-12.09.

There are four rods to each beat and they both have a very nice self-catering lodge.
