River Nordura is called “fegurst áa (the most beautiful of rivers)” and rightly so. The all natural gin clear river has been a fly fisherman favorite ever since the eighteen hundreds.
Not only is Norðurá beautiful but the fishing in the river is also plentiful. Norðurá has always been one of Iceland’s best rivers with an average catch of 1570 salmon. This summer unfortunately the river suffered from drought and the catches were uncharacteristically poor.
Nest year we expect much better return as we firmly believe things will be back to normal.
We have a few slots up for grabs in Nordurá in 2020. I will be happy to answer all your questions and pencil you in to the most beautiful of rivers.
