Is our very own Litlaa (literally translated: Little river) in the north-eastern part of Iceland. As the name indicates, it’s not a big river – but it’s not a creek either, it holds 5 rods comfortably and anglers can choose between full board and self catering accommodation.
The river offers all species of Icelandic freshwater sport fish; brown trout, sea trout, char and the occasional salmon. But so do many other rivers and one might ask what is so special about this one? The answer is simple, Litlaa if fed partially by a hot spring – making the average water temperature 12° Celcius all year round. Because of this the conditions for freshwater fish are perfect, they grow long and fat.
Anglers can choose between self catering and full board at a B&B by the river, guides can also be arranged. This river is a must visit for any trout angler – prime time is in May – June and again from late August until beginning of October.
