We have got a great option for those of you that want to experience two great rivers in the same trip. Ágarður in Sog and Stóra Laxá are two of our gems and they are within easy reach of the capital. Ásgarður is only 45 minutes by car and Stóra laxá another 40 minutes from Ásgarður.

Ásgarður beat in the river Sog is a three rod private beat with one of the most luxurious self-catering cottages in the country. The river Sog runs from the lake Þingvallavatn and is Iceland’s largest clear water river. The salmon in the river is 100% from natural spawning and because of the volume of water the salmon tend to be big and powerful in river „Sog“.

Stóra laxá beat 3 is a nice two rod beat in the middle section of the river. The private beat includes a nice double bedroom lodge with a Jacuzzi. The river Stóra Laxá is known for its breathtaking natural beauty and salmon that can be of very good sizes.

Those two rivers would make for an ideal combo trip for fishermen that want to be on a self- catering basis. Fishermen that want to enjoy the feeling of having your own private beat to swing that double hander hoping for a fresh – plus sized Atlantic salmon.

In the evening after the BBQ you can soak in the Jacuzzi in the Icelandic summer night without a single worry on your mind.
