Sog- Asgard
This exellent Salmon fishing beat on the river Sog is only 45 minutes drive from capital Reykjavik. The Asgard beat on the river Sog is well known for large Salmon, ideal for fly fishing , all floating lines and riffling hitch works very well.
The beat is 5.6 km long and is exclusive for 3 salmon rods. The river is gin clear and never has problems with floods , brown water , high water or low water , it is simply very steady and always gin clear.
Beautiful springer taken at pool “Hlidin”, middle of July is an amazing time for the Springers at Asgardur beat.
Fishing is good , on 3 rods we normally land 150-320 Salmon. You will also enjoy catching landlocked and Sea run Arctic Char as well as Seatrout.

There is some of the finest Arctic Char fishing on beat Asgardur , both sea run Char and native Char , they can be as big as up to 14 pounds. Amazing sport on light tackle, all floating lines with dry flies and upstream nymphing. Also number of Seatrout up to trophy sizes over 10 pounds.
