Breiðdalsá

Breiðdalsá is a truly magnificent river situated in the east of Iceland. With falls, tributaries and char beats there is no better time to enjoy this fishing playground.

Breiðdalsá has long been known for it’s bigger fish and truly spectacular scenery.

Breiðdalsá has its source in the mountains where streams converge and Tinnudalsá, Suðurdalsá and Norðurdalsá flow together.

There is good potential for big salmon – salmon around and over 10 kg are caught annually. The river has many beautiful fishing spots with good access.

Breiðdalsá is 4 rods early season but changes to 6 rods later on in the season.

The lodge is sited close to the lower part of the river, its enjoys far reaching views across the nearby mountain range as well as the pastural farm land on the far bank. The nearby town of Breiddalsvik is a 5 minute drive. A largely fishing port the town has a simple store and a couple of bars and restaurants.

The lodge is comprised of 8 en suite rooms, a commercial kitchen and a spacious sitting/dining room with open log fire. There is also the benefit of a hot tub and a small sauna.
